History of Shawarma
The word “Shawarma” has been derived from a Turkish word “çevirme,” which means “turning.” Shawarma originated as kebab, in North-eastern part of Turkey. However, the modern Shawarma recipes have been brought to form and popularity by the Turkish population residing in Germany. In the ancient times, wood fire was used for cooking Shawarma instead of the modern gas flame.
